John Green is an American New York Times-bestselling author .His first book was Looking For Alaska written in 2005. Besides being an author, Green is also well known for his YouTube ventures. John Green has won The Printz award (2006), Edgar Allan Poe award (2009), Corine award (2010), Indiana Authors award (2012), Children’s Choice Book award (2013) and LA Times Book prize (2013).

The novel The Fault In Our Stars is a Romantic Tragedy .The novel talks about the most unfortunate but touching love story of two cancer patients, Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters known as Gus. Their story starts in the cancer support group. Grace suffers from lung cancer, always cares a portable oxygen tank to breathe adequately and claims not to be a typical teenager. Gus who was a brilliant basket ball player is now suffering from osteosarcoma and has lost his right leg but still manages to be a funny and romantic guy.

The book tells us how in the most remote and painful times of one’s life, happiness can always be found by the most unexpected person. Gus loved Grace till the end for the person she was, accepting all her flaws, believing in her even when she didn’t.

I feel the book was very touching and brilliantly written. This book is written for young adults. Maybe this book is like any other cancer book but, this one truly pulled me towards it. It has little humor , a little romance and a little of everything .The other main reason why I would recommend others to read this book is because it talks about how a cancer patient views the world ,as it is completely different from how we assume it to be . And if you’re a young adult, I would definitely recommend you to read it as it seems like it’s written for the young crowd.

Chetan Bhagat is an Indian author, screenwriter and speaker. He is the author of six novels, Five Point Someone, One Night @ The Call Centre, Three Mistakes Of My Life , 2 States , Revolution 2020 and What Young India Wants. Major Bollywood films like 3 Idiots, Kai Poi Che and 2 States are based on his books.

Chetan Bhagat writes columns for English and Hindi Newspapers. He is a motivational speaker. His books are generally for the young adults of the current generation. He is one of the most famous authors in fiction category in India. This book tells the reader how to think straight in life, especially during the course of studies. This book is about three good friends who had a bad start in IIT. They started with messing up their first class and moved on to only worsening things. They were ranking at the end of the class. As everyone expects IITians to have the most perfect life, but actually these people are struggling to survive. This book also tells us of what society expects from people and how these three boys listened and followed their own dreams and wishes not listening to society. This is also what Chetan Bhagat wants us to do, follow our dreams. The main characters are Ryan who enjoys engineering and is more into practicality than theory. Then the second main character is Alok who is from a poor family and joins IIT to help his family and bring up their status. Then Hari narrates the story, he seems confused and always takes the easy way out. I would suggest this book to people because Chetan Bhagat’s books are based on realistic experiences. Hence, readers can relate to it, as one or more have also gone through the experience.
